ABOUT THE BRIDGE
The Bridge is a Homeless Recovery Center for individuals without a home in Dallas County. Our doors are open twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week, and is the only shelter in Dallas providing day shelter services to all adults experiencing homelessness. The Bridge offers basic needs services including hot showers, nutritious meals, and haircuts, as well as intensive services such as physical and mental health evaluations and care management services for almost 600 Guests every day and night shelter for 300 Guests each night. Through collaborative relationships with homeless services partners, The Bridge creates a one-stop-shop experience enhancing a Guest’s ability to implement a Care and Housing Plan, or strategy for exiting homelessness.
OUR SERVICES
We offer stability by providing emergency shelter to 250 Guests each night. Once a Guest is assigned a mat, they are guaranteed their mat each night as long as they show up with no waiting in line.
We create opportunities for homeless recovery through one to one case management and peer support services.
We provide dormitory style accommodations on our campus for 150 Guests that have been participating in our program for a minimum of 30 consecutive days and are housing-ready. Many of these Guests are employed or have other income and are all actively seeking permanent housing opportunities.
We engage Guests through on-site access to behavioral healthcare (Metrocare), physical healthcare (Parkland) and emergency medical services (Dallas EMT).
The Bridge works with local organizations to provide access to income for people recovering from homelessness by prioritizing job preparedness and job search activities, and by assisting eligible persons to enroll in Medicaid and Social Security disability programs.
Guests have access to our on-campus laundry room to do laundry at their convenience.
Mack’s Barbershop at The Bridge, supported by the McManemin Family Foundation, provides 90 haircuts each week to our Guests to boost their self-confidence, hygiene, and make it easier for them to obtain employment.
The Bridge is the only homeless shelter with an on-site dog kennel for our Guests canine friends.
Thanks to our volunteers, we provide many activities for our Guests to enjoy such as Bingo, Karaoke, and Art Class to provide socialization and stress relief.
We provide Guests personal hygiene kits and access to shower and restroom facilities to help stay clean and healthy.
We provide self-accessible storage lockers to each Guests that sleeps at The Bridge so they can safely house their belongings while they work to end their homelessness.
Guests have access to a library and computer lab to help continue their education and search for job opportunities.

Summer is here and essentials is more than just water.
Hot weather has arrived in Dallas. You can help us provide summer essentials to our Guests as they continue on their homeless recovery journey.
At The Bridge, we believe the answer to homelessness is a home.
We house about one person every day. And every time one of our Guests exits homelessness and moves into their new home, we ring a bell in celebration. We also want to do everything we can to help in their transition. That’s why we created the Welcome Home Fund. Click here for more information.
